Talks Revisited: Helen Keller with Monika Lind

Museum & Art Gallery

One-offThu 25 Mar
6:30pm
Undeterred by deafness and blindness, Helen Keller rose to become a major 20th century humanitarian, educator and writer. She was the first deaf and blind person to earn a college degree. She travelled the world to raise awareness of sight and hearing health, and gave lectures on women’s rights, social politics, and war. We will look at the hard and long path this incredibly driven woman had to walk to change not only her own life but also that of many others after her. Speaker Monika Lind is a retired university lecturer of Culture and Humanities Studies with a passion to continue to share her eclectic interests in and knowledge of all things cultural with you.
