JazzHastings brings the Rebecka Edlund / Laura Jurd / Ruth Goller Trio to Barnaby’s Lounge for a special close‑up performance. Drawing on the evocative edge of Nordic landscapes, bodily freedom and peace of mind, this boundary‑pushing trio performs music from Rebecka Edlund’s upcoming debut album Virgin Forest . The album is a vulnerable and empowering portrayal of a girl finding her way to womanhood, reflecting on the synergy between how we treat the home we have in nature and the one we carry within. Virgin Forest will be released in spring 2027. Up‑and‑coming Swedish vocalist and songwriter Rebecka Edlund weaves Scandinavian folk music with improvisation and contemporary jazz. Since moving to London in 2019, she has emerged as one of the UK’s most compelling new vocalists — “commanding the attention with her magnificent voice,” as Written in Music described her 2025 performance. Laura Jurd (Mercury‑nominated Dinosaur ) brings her unmistakable trumpet voice — bold, inventive and deeply musical. A distinctive performer in contemporary music, she has toured extensively across the UK, Europe and beyond. Ruth Goller , hailed by the Guardian for her “thunderous bass‑guitar hooks,” is a creative force behind the UK’s jazz renaissance. A bassist, vocalist and composer, she has performed with Shabaka Hutchings, Kit Downes and Paul McCartney , and is known for her fearless, atmospheric approach.
