Ahoy there! After the amazing success of the very first Rye Pirates and Smugglers Day back in 2025, the scurvy sea dogs of the Brethren of the Sea Crew are busy organising the second year in the historic town of Rye. Promising a spectacular FREE day packed with pirate and smuggler adventures, family entertainment, live music, reenactments, markets and shenanigans for visitors of all ages. Visitors can expect a full day of entertainment including: - Live reenactments and demonstrations from both the The Day of Syn and 79th Cameron Highlanders - A procession through the town – muster from 10am at the Gun Gardens and a children’s parade in the afternoon - Traditional sea shanties and live music performances on stage at the Salts - Family-friendly activities and interactive entertainment - Pirates and Smugglers roaming the town - Smugglers Market with local artisan traders on the Strand Quay - Children’s Entertainment zone at the Salts with Pirate Belle - Best dressed competitions for children, adults and even pets! The event remains free to attend, helping to bring the local community together while encouraging visitors to explore and support Rye’s independent shops, hospitality venues and attractions.
