Coffee Concert: Matthew Quenby (viola) & Pavlos Carvalho (double bass) Featuring works by Johan Sebastian Bach, Gioachino Rossini, Reinhold Glire and Carl Ditters von Dittersdorf. Matthew Quenby is a versatile performer, he has performed in prestigious halls and festivals including: Vienna Musikverein, Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Salzburg Festival, Lucerene Festival, Edinburgh Festival and regularly at the BBC Proms. As a soloist Matthew has performed at the Berliner Philharmonie and with many London Chamber Orchestras. Chamber Music has always been a major part of Matthews musical output and recorded for EMI with the Lunel Quartet. Whilst living in France Matthew was Professor of Viola and Chamber Music at the Masters de Pontlevoy Academie Internationale de Musique. Currently Matthew performs with Ensemble Reza across the south east concert series and educational programs as well as being a member of the St Martins in the Field Chamber Ensemble. Pavlos Carvalho has performed as a solo and chamber musician in venues including The Purcell Room, The Royal Albert Hall, The Cadogan Hall and Teatro dal Verme, Milan. Pavlos has recorded for the BBC and recently released the Bach Suites for Willowhayne Records. He annually performs these suites, together with the Beethoven Sonatas at both the Brighton and Chichester Festivals. He has performed concertos with many orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic. As a founding member and Artistic Director of Ensemble Reza, Pavlos has been involved in many outreach and community projects including Music for Life, Pied Piper and Live Music Now. He is a Director of Pro Corda Cello Courses and has given master classes and workshops for the London Cello Society and Cambridge University.
