Guy's career took off when he won the BBC Young Musician Competition. Since then, he has travelled the world, performing with top orchestras and has recorded many of the great concertos. The BBC Music Magazine said of his recording of the Bliss Concerto "Johnston certainly shines – a splendid performance of a splendid piece" – 5 stars.
