Newlands House Gallery
This exhibition brings together a significant body of new and recent work, offering visitors an opportunity to experience the extraordinary craftsmanship, technical innovation and sculptural beauty, that have established Marc Fish as an internationally recognised figure in contemporary art and design. Presented in partnership with ROSA Magazine (founders of Sussex Craft Week), the exhibition follows Fish's recognition as the inaugural winner of the Sussex Craft Awards, an honour celebrating excellence in contemporary making across the county. Visitors will discover works that combine exceptional craftsmanship with radical innovation, demonstrating why Marc Fish is regarded as one of Britain's most important contemporary designer-makers. Working from his East Sussex studio, Marc Fish has developed an internationally acclaimed practice that exists at the intersection of sculpture, material research and collectible design. Almost entirely self-taught, he has spent decades pioneering new approaches to wood, resin, bronze, lacquer and composite materials, creating works that dissolve the traditional boundaries between sculpture, craft and furniture. Marc Fish exhibits internationally at prestigious fairs including PAD London, Design Miami and TEFAF, and his works are held in important private and public collections around the world. This is a rare opportunity to see his work in his home county of Sussex. The exhibition is free to visit at Newlands House Gallery in Petworth until 6 September 2026.
