Burning the Clocks

Please note, Same Sky, the creators of Burning the Clocks, have confirmed that its winter solstice event will pause in 2025 and return in 2026 with the theme ‘Magicada’. The dark grip of long wintry nights is broken by a flicker of light. Started in 1993, Burning the Clocks represents an alternative to the commercial Christmas. Thousands of people gather to make paper lanterns to carry through the city before burning them on the beach as a token for the end of the year and to greet the lengthening days.
