Three times a year, Midhurst becomes the place serious record collectors come to dig. The UK’s only specialist vinyl fair built entirely around jazz, blues, soul and funk – dealers who know the music, stock worth travelling for, a DJ on a proper system, cold Langham brew on the bar, and the conversation between the stalls as good as the records on them. A fourth, bigger edition runs across the festival weekend in November as the cultural daytime anchor. Nobody else is doing this. By year three, the November edition is a destination in its own right.
