Creative Writing Workshops By Sharon Massey Series of 4 workshops - Saturday 2.30pm - 4.00pm on the following dates - 12/9, 10/10, 7/11, 12/12. 10 participants maximum. The aim is to stimulate the imaginative flow, increase self-confidence about putting pen to paper and develop a unique writerly ‘voice’ in a safe environment that promotes freedom of creative expression. Sharon runs her workshops as a form of Ensemble writing. Participants write, read out, (if they’re comfortable in doing so) and feedback on each other’s work. This is a completely non-judgmental practice, so we don’t comment on the work in the qualitative (or quantitative) elements of each other’s writing. Each workshop has a theme and a trigger word to get the imaginative juices flowing. There are usually about 5 main tasks per session; each one leading to a development of the last based on sentences shared and feedback. All styles are welcome, from poetry to prose, diary and dramatic dialogue.
