Womens Voice presents Karen Arthur A conversation on menopause, creativity and joy Friday 25 September 6.30 - 8.30pm Stade Hall Refreshments available Join us for an evening with artist, writer and activist Karen Arthur, creator of the ground-breaking podcast Menopause Whilst Black, as she shares her story and leads a discussion on the transformative potential of menopause. Karen's own journey took her from 28 years as a dance teacher and pastoral head in London schools, through a menopause that upended her health and sense of self, to a new life centred on creativity: dressing with intention, dance, art, and building community. She'll talk about how she found her way back to joy, and how menopause, far from being an ending, can be a doorway. This event is for women and everyone who experiences menopause, including trans and non-binary people. All are welcome. Creative activity:Head Wrap Workshop Following the talk, Karen will lead a hands-on head wrap workshop, sharing the techniques and history behind this rich tradition, and opening up an honest conversation about cultural appropriation, respect, and who gets to wear what. Come ready to learn, ask questions, and try some styles for yourself. Bring a large t-shirt or scarf to play with. Bio Karen Arthur is an artist, writer, broadcaster and menopause activist.
