Weald & Downland Living Museum
Join us for our Lammas Fayre and immerse yourself in medieval times as we bring history to life as we celebrate the blessing the First Fruits of harvest with Black Knight Historical Group, who will be living and working over a Lammas Fayre in and around some of the historic buildings at the Museum. In our Market Square, you can explore a Lammas Fayre, with markets stalls and medieval traders, as it may have been in 1462, during the reign of Edward IV. All celebrating the first wheat harvest of the year (‘Lammas meaning Loaf Mass’).
