Join artist Shona Macdonald for this two-part workshop making a short illustrated sequence, taking inspiration from traditional folk tales, Identify key frames and create a simple storyboard to work up into a unique illustrated concertina booklet with papercut elements. Suitable for all levels, but some experience of drawing is useful. All materials provided. Some scalpel use required in week 2. Please note this workshop is held over two consecutive Saturdays. Part one Looking at source texts from traditional folk tales, we will identify key frames and construct a simple storyboard sequence which will then be worked up into illustrations. Participants can continue to work on their booklets between sessions one and two if desired. Week 2 Continuing on from week one to complete the illustrated sequences and use paper-cutting techniques to add decorative elements before binding the booklet into end plates. By the end of this session you should have a self-supporting mini book to display.
