Charleston in Lewes
Enjoy a rare opportunity to explore life drawing outdoors in Charleston's orchard. Shared and enjoyed by both the Bloomsbury painters and writers, the old apple, medlar, and quince trees still offer a special connection to the past. During the day, we will explore shape, rhythm, space, light and movement, capturing the relationship between the life model, the trees and the Sussex landscape. You will also have the chance to draw the model in a variety of poses, long and short, as well as in slow movement. Suitable for all levels, with all materials provided, this workshop will also include a tour of the modernist home and studio at Charleston, providing a glimpse into its rich artistic history. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, including a delicious lunch made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
