Rye National Town Crier Championships

Gun Gardens

Town criers from across the country gather in Rye for the National Town Criers' Championship, celebrating the heritage, ceremony and vocal skill of town crying. The day begins at 11am with a procession from Rye Town Hall led by the Ryebellion Drummers. Round 1, the Home Cry, starts in Gun Gardens at 11:30am. At 2pm, children and adults can step forward for a public Have a Go session. The criers return in full regalia at 2:30pm for Round 2, the Themed Cry.
