Bates Green Garden
Written by Alison Bettles, local artist and practitioner. The workshop will begin with an introduction to the cyanotype process, what it is, its history and show you all examples by artists and myself. I'll explain the chemicals involved which are non toxic and then perform a demonstration to show everyone how simple the process is. We will then visit the garden and collect material so that you can start designing and making your own unique botanical creations which you can take home when the workshop ends. During the workshop we will have a break where we can see the sun prints we have all made. Please wear clothing that you don't mind getting splashed as it can get quite messy! As mentioned the chemicals used are non toxic and non caustic but as a precaution gloves (non latex) will be provided as will all other materials that you'll need. Please book in advance for this workshop
