Maddie Martin is an exciting new voice on the UK jazz scene, quickly carving out her own path with a sound rooted in tradition yet shaped by a fresh contemporary perspective. With a distinctive old soul tone and a gift for storytelling, she captivates audiences through expressive phrasing, rich timbre and a compelling stage presence. A graduate of the Royal College of Music, she will blend vibrant arrangements of standards, 1970s soul and original compositions by trumpeter and composer Gabriel Taylor. Maddie will lead a Quartet before the interval and her Septet afterwards. When the opportunity arises she loves leading big bands of up to 18 pieces.
